    small sun coral

    Hi there

I fancy having a go at keeping a sun coral so if anyone has any frags or even any which have been spawned in captivity I would love to buy or swap for other coral frags

    small sun coral

I had a sun coral it did ok but you need real dedication to keep them going iwas told keep them out of the light so i reshape my rocks and made a cave then found out some months later that each and everyone for the heads (polyps)need feeding with baby brine, cycolps etc... which was a bit of a problem since i side was no on show in the cave so when it came to feeding i turned of the powerheads target feed the food to as many heads as possible then the blood shrimp and cleaner shrimp are all over them taking the food and yes i tried to put food elseware but it only works for a short while also the other problem is you can only feed when the heads are out mostly at night but i have read that you can train them but im sure most people here know all this but for me i wont ever try them again too hard to keep
    hope this helps someone

I used to fed mine 2 ways.
The first was to remove the sun coral to a seperate bowl then hand feed each polyp.
The second was to cover with a coke bottle then squirt food over the sun coral.

    small sun coral

Hi mate. I have a small frag of one. Its probably got about 10 or so heads on it. I wouldnt mind swapping for a LPS coral. Torch, hammer or frogspawn ideally. Like mentioned above I have fed this and used the coke bottle to cover it whilst it had digested the food. It can be trained to come out in an evening
