aparenrty they are very hard to post but dont let that put you of all you need to do is place the pulse in a bag of tank water or tub and shake this will get rid of most of the mucus that it would secrete in transit which is supposed to kill it as there is no circulation in the bag that will clear the xenia of mucus after this is done place it in the tank again and let the current in the tank clear it.

or you can just place it in a bag and hope fot the best which is what i do most of the time.

to pack the xenia either trpple bag it with a layer of newspaper on each bag and on the outside stick a heat pack and wrap in lots of insulating stuff e.g. bubble wrap etc

or place in a sealable container with the xenia wraped in a food bag so that it does not get damiged put on heat pack and insulate you can then put it in any box size you want.

NOTE DON'T PUT TO MUCH WATER IN THE BAG/TUB WITH THE XENIA AS IT WILL COST ALOT
and leave no air in bag/tub

lots there but hope it will help

Xenia has a very poor record for shipping.. anyone asking for some to be posted should please consider themselves lucky if it survives the trip. It is much better with this species to trade it/pass it on locally.. or trade it in to a LFS.

Fortunately, on the whole it grows like a weed so it's worth taking the chance on some.. and if it doesn't work out have another couple of goes.

You need to remove as much of the shipping water as possible.. during acclimatisation.. Put the entire contants of the shipping container into a clean bowl/jug.. slowly add tank water over an hour or two.. after the first few additions start removing water from the bowl/jug before you add the next lot of tank water.. discard the water you remove.. it will be full of released chemicals from the shipping-stressed Xenia and these can cause major problems.

Because of the way your discarding water during the acclimatisation you will need to have some fresh saltwater made-up and ready to top-up the tank.. or take the opportunity to do a water change at the same time.

It is also worthwhile adding fresh carbon when you add the Xenia to help mop up anything it releases (remove the carbon after a week).<^EDIT^>
