Its is scary when you first start but so rewarding once you get used to things.
The frag guides are only ideas and my way of doing things. We all do it slightly different so in time you will find your own way of comfortably fragging and attaching.

Your ideas are much easier looking than my ideas! lol

Im wanting to know you guys tips on splitting zoas.

Iv got a collony of arround 80+ heads thay i dont really want to mess with but if its easy enough 1 or 2 heads would not be missed i dont think?! i also have 2 much smaller collony's one has around 20 heads and one around 10 heads. these are what i would like to try fragging 1st.

Also is it possible to split leathers?

im sure i'll have a million more questions soon. :-)

    Regards

    Kev...

Leathers are literally snip or cut pieces off and attach to rocks the stump left would regrow aswell.

Zoas - using gloved hands you can literally pull off the polyps and superglue them onto substrate. Or you can place small pieces of rock around a colony and allow them to grow onto these. This is probably the best way of doing the frag as it means the animals are well established and will not fall off.

Substrates can be pieces of live rubble, shells, milliput etc. I have had frags delivered grown onto cockle shells etc

With large zoa colonies you normally find a few hanging off the edge or some that can be peeled up on their matting from the rock. Once off just super glue to another rock and place in a low flow area of the tank.
EDIT - you beat me to it

Simple. I'll be trying that then I want to try and get several variations onto one piece of rock.

As for the leathers.... Would i be better to just cut the whole head off or a "pizza scice" type cut?

BTW Thanks for the help guys

    Cheers.

If its a toadstool I would take a slice from the side. If you picture a clock face, cut from 7pm to 10pm. Thi piece can them be chopped into smaller pieces.

Im not following you mate. Is it a pizza slice cut or a straight cut from "7 to 10"

also Will it re grow as long as it has some tenticles or does it grow fresh ones anyway?

    Thanks
