    Feeding corals

How often do you feed your corals? when, what and how

I have been feeding zoo plankton, osyter eggs, mysis, cyclopeze and ground dragon pellets to the tank just before lights out.

My LPS go berserk for the food along with my litophyton corals, gorgonians, bubble, fungia plate and duncans.

I hav ebeen experimenting with a wave maker Ocean Pulse Duo wave maker - less than 20 squid!

I am running a small seio on this turning on the pump every 10 seconds or up to every 6 minutes.

The random flow helps to spin the food around the tank and gets the corals really going well in the currents.

I tend to use a tiny bit of phyto, coral frenzy and cyclopeeze in my main tank. My frag tank runs with a DSB which kind of looks after the coral feeding although I do drop in a bit of meat or some pellets every couple of days to feed the critters.

I feed my gorgonians frozen newly hatched brine shrimp and frozen rotifers.Noticed the zoa population exploding lately which i think may be due to the daily rotifers. Used to feed cyclopeeze but it caused my nitrates to go up,stopped feeding this and nitrates are back to unreadable.
Palyzoas get adult brineshrimp,blastos/candycanes/ duncans/suncorals get mysis. As the duncan is a monster it also eats much bigger krill pacifica and has also caught and ate my little neon gobies.Everthing else gets light.

I hand feed (ok, I use tongs) my LPS (Trachy, Loby, Candycane) whole mysis or chunks of defrosted crevette.. a Lobo can swallow surprisingly large pieces of meat and has a seriously large appetite.

Keep 'em well fed and they grow very fast.
